Usage Examples

1) Backup a 3D model (internal storage) with a backup stick

1. Create the backup USB stick:

   pandory stick backup <destDrive>
   

   Example: pandory stick backup F:\
2. When prompted, select the matching 3D/3D+ variant.

2) Installing the Pandory3D improvements (jailbreak 3D models)

1. Create the jailbreak USB stick:

2. When prompted, choose [1] for Pandora Games 3D / Saga 3D (up to 20200217 firmware) or [2] for Pandora Games 3D+ (20200704 and later).

3) Add games for 3D models

1. Prepare ROMs for your device:

   pandory add <sourceDir> <destDir>
   

   Example: pandory add C:\roms F:\

4) Perform the PSPFix for 3D models

1. Prepare a clean exFAT USB stick and note its drive letter (example F:\).
2. Create the Stage 1 installer on that USB stick:

   pandory pspfix stage1 <destDrive>
   

   Example: pandory pspfix stage1 F:\
3. Safely eject the USB stick, boot the Pandora with its normal microSD, and insert the stick once to install the PSP injector.
4. Power off, remove the Pandora microSD, insert it into your PC, and note its drive letter (example G:\).
5. Apply Stage 2 directly to that microSD:

   pandory pspfix stage2 <destDrive>
   

   Example: pandory pspfix stage2 G:\
6. Safely eject the microSD and put it back in the Pandora.

5) Installing the PandoryDX improvements (DX models)

PandoryDX Features

PandoryDX is a friendly set of improvements for the DX range of Pandora Box arcade boards. It fixes factory misconfigurations without flashing firmware, and runs entirely from micro‑SD or USB so you can remove it anytime.

Skins

PandoryDX adds a new skin, removes the menu “click” sound, and lets you swap Pandora DX logos and graphics.

4:3 Aspect Ratio Correction

Classic arcade games were designed for 4:3. The DX stretches to widescreen by default, but PandoryDX corrects this automatically.

Advanced users: You can override aspect ratio globally or per‑game using forceHeight in pandory.xml on your micro‑SD/USB.

Sharp Pixels / Blur Removal

DX boards scale low‑res games up and add blur. PandoryDX removes the blur and can apply optional integer scaling for crisp pixels.

Advanced users: Blur can be re‑enabled in pandory.xml for low‑resolution arcade monitors.

Final Burn Alpha Core Clock Boost

Final Burn Alpha simulates original slow‑down (e.g., Metal Slug 2). PandoryDX can overclock the emulated CPU for smoother play.

Advanced users: Disable this in pandory.xml if you want original slow‑down behavior.

Dipswitches

Hold START in‑game to open the dipswitch menu (when supported) and tweak settings like difficulty or censorship.

Smoother Scrolling

PandoryDX optimizes graphics settings for smoother scrolling, especially over HDMI.

Character Unlocks

Some stock games hide characters. PandoryDX includes presets that unlock them by default.

Buttons Reconfigured

PandoryDX fixes misconfigured controls and lets you define custom remaps in pandory.xml.

King of Air 2 – Aspect Ratio Correction

The KOA2 vertical variant can display vertical games at the wrong width. PandoryDX corrects this.

Attract-Mode

DX auto‑inserts coins in freeplay, which hides attract‑mode demos. PandoryDX disables auto‑coin for a more authentic arcade feel.

Advanced users: You can disable this in pandory.xml.

Improved Scanlines

Factory scanlines are thick and ugly. PandoryDX uses a low‑CPU “JPINO‑Royale” scanline preset.

Advanced users: Scanline graphics and opacity are configurable in pandory.xml.

King of Air 2: HD Filter Disabled

KOA2 forces an HD filter that makes pixels look like an oil painting. PandoryDX disables it so pixels look correct again.

Advanced users: You can re‑enable the filter in settings if you want.

Extra Emulators

DX ships with a small emulator set. PandoryDX adds extra emulators and lets you add games for these systems in roms_pandory on your micro‑SD/USB.

Note: Some systems (e.g., Amiga) require Kickstart/BIOS files you provide.

TATE Mode

PandoryDX can auto‑rotate vertical games or let you rotate manually to fit a vertical screen.

Advanced users: Enable this in pandory.xml and use it for horizontal games on vertical screens if needed.

Custom Cores

Some games launch with sub‑optimal emulators out of the box. PandoryDX can auto‑switch ROMs to better cores for performance or controls.

Advanced users: Example swaps like Final Burn Alpha to MAME2003 are set in pandory.xml.

Free Games

PandoryDX includes free, legal homebrew/shareware games. Scroll to the end of your game list to find them.

Menu Music

The DX menu is silent by default. PandoryDX adds demo music and can play your own MP3s as a jukebox.

Advanced users: Remove spaces from MP3 filenames.

Quake

PandoryDX includes the shareware version of Quake for some classic PC nostalgia.

About (PandoryTool Ultimate)

PandoryDX installs via PandoryTool Ultimate (included in the download) and can improve other Pandora variants. An installation guide is provided after download.

Pandory3D Features

Pandory3D is a set of improvements, new features, and a jailbreak for the 3D range of Pandora Box arcade boards. It fixes factory misconfigurations, prepares USB sticks to add games, and can install a jailbreak to activate optimizations and fixes.

Game Installer

Pandory prepares a USB stick that, when inserted, installs your games/ROMs to the micro‑SD. Game videos and titles are automatically identified and downloaded by the built‑in scraper.

Advanced users: You can install to the USB stick itself by creating a games folder at the root. If no micro‑SD is inserted, games install to internal NAND.

If you delete a game in the settings menu and reinstall it with Pandory, many titles are re‑installed with optimized control layouts, dual‑stick fixes, and 3/4‑player support.

Advanced users: Reinstalling some Final Burn Alpha ROMs (e.g., Metal Slug and other Neo‑Geo titles) can enable accelerated emulated CPU settings to reduce slowdown on non‑3D+ models (firmware earlier than 20200714).

4:3 Aspect Ratio Correction

Classic arcade games were designed for 4:3, but the 3D range stretches to wide displays by default. Pandory3D corrects this automatically.

Advanced users: Use the manual aspect ratio shortcut (START + Player 1 E) to toggle modes.

Button Shortcuts

Pandory adds button combos for Android launcher access, system settings, pause menu, aspect ratio changes, and safe shutdown. These shortcuts work on internally connected controllers only.

Easy Unbrick

Some 3D models can corrupt video settings (e.g., after switching to 1080p or power loss). If the jailbreak is installed, holding Pause for ~30 seconds restores video settings.

Networking Services

Pandory enables FTP (port 7777) and Telnet (port 4444), adds USB LAN support for models without Wi‑Fi, and provides a browser‑based “Pandory Remote” for installing apps or changing settings.

New Skin

Community member @supercoco contributed the “Pandory Nitro” skin, which is activated after jailbreak installation.

MAME-Configs

Reinstalling games via Pandory applies optimized control configs, including dual‑stick fixes and 3/4‑player support.

APK-Installer

Use the built‑in APK installer to add compatible Android 4.4 apps and emulators.

Moonlight

Install the Moonlight APK to stream your PC desktop and access your Steam library (LAN recommended).

Dip Switches

Hold START + Player 1 D in‑game (if supported) to access the dipswitch menu for game settings like difficulty or censorship toggles.

Graphics Optimizations

Pandory enables GPU rendering to reduce input lag, adds MSAA for 3D smoothing, and adjusts color settings to better match original arcade hardware.

Safe Shutdown

Use START + Player 1 A+B+C for a software safe‑shutdown, since the 3D range lacks a built‑in shutdown option.

Retroarch

Install the Retroarch APK to access additional emulators.

Dreamcast Save-Support

Pandory installs Dreamcast NVRAM data to enable save support and pre‑unlock characters in some games.

Activate Extra Save-States

In the settings menu, hold Player 1 F to access the service menu and enable save‑states for select built‑in games.

Playstation 1 Fixes

Pandory fixes PS1 BIOS issues and restores Tekken 1, which previously did not run.

Fixes for the PPSSPP Emulator / Games

Pandory can install optional PSP emulator fixes, including better control mappings, fixes for broken games, performance tweaks, and access to the internal PPSSPP menu.
