While BMP format supports alpha channel, it is enabled only when the header is at least 56 bytes long (BITMAPV3INFOHEADER and later). For very common 40-byte-long header (BITMAPINFOHEADER) 32bpp format should be interpreted as BGRX format, but currently SDL interprets them as BGRA format and causes a significant compatibility problem as many 32bpp files use a padding byte of 0 ("transparent" in BGRA interpretation).

I fixed this by checking to see if the alpha channel is all 0, and if so, setting it opaque.

Implemented mouse focus handling entirely using mouse motion events, with SetCapture() semantics, as long as the windowing system continues to provide mouse events.
Fixed creating render texture framebuffer.
Removed the need for palette watch, added surface format caching.
Added an SDL_DONTFREE flag so you can't free the window and 1.2 shadow surfaces.
Make sure every source file includes SDL_config.h, so the proper system
headers are chosen.

FIXME:
Change #include <stdlib.h> to #include "SDL_stdlib.h"
Change #include <string.h> to #include "SDL_string.h"
Make sure nothing else broke because of this...

Subject: [SDL] SDL_SaveBMP width bugfix
this fixes the pitch versus width difference that can happen
(especially for 8bit and 24bit (with the exact RGBAmasks) surfaces)
when you use SDL_SaveBMP. The problem was the pitch was used
instead of the width, which in some cases is much wider than the
screen area you really want to save...making for ugly crud on the
saved image borders.
This code has been tested with & without pitch overhangs...and
with the right masks for 24 bit surfaces.
I tested 8,15,16,24,32-0RGB,32-RGBA(with no SDL_SRCALPHA flag).
